I'm currently looking forward to a long weekend away with my lovely boyfriend. We're going to Nottingham for the Elite Ice Hockey League Playoffs! I cannot wait to get there and get stuck into the atmosphere!
But first I have to pack.
It's my equivalent of climbing Everest!!!
I keep having to tell myself that I'm only going for 2 and a half days because I keep thinking of things I could take. I've cut down a little on space by picking up some travel sized shampoo and shower gel but then I have my clothes, nightwear, straighteners and hairdryer. The hairdryers in hotels ain't much good to me as I have a lot of hair and they take their sweet time actually drying my hair!! I use a professional standard one. Much quicker! :-) Aswell as all this there is my make-up, brush, spare towel. You name it, I'm likely to take it. And I don't understand why I need so much. My case always seems heavier than it really needs to be.
It's always heavier on the way home too. That's a curse of shopping whilst on holiday. It weighs you down a little! And, as neatly as I pack my case this side of going away, it won't be that neat when I come back!!
When I'm there though, I can forget about my suitcase for a couple of days and just have fun. No doubt I'll lose my voice yelling at the top of my lungs at both the opposition and the ref!! :-)
I can't wait!! :-)

diet time
I did the thing today that I should have done a while ago. I started a diet. Well, I say diet, what I actually mean is I started eating a little healthier than I have been recently. Started well when I just had a cereal bar for breakfast and then askd for lunch. Started to go a little wrong when I got chocolate cravings mid afternoon though. Why does it have to happen just at the time where I'm trying to be good??
As for diets, why are there so many different ones out there? If everyone just ate healthily then we wouldn't need people to come up with so many different diets! And so many of them are fad diets that are so harmful to our bodies and half the time, our minds. All we need is a healthy, balanced diet and we will all be good to go! And not only will we be healthier but we will look healthier too.
I'm gonna get off my soapbox now and eat a chocolate. Can't be leaving them alone for too long!!! :-)

Take one
So, here goes, my first blog.
I suppose I should start with a little about me. Well, My name is Sarah, I enjoy reading, films, music and painting. I have a really great boyfriend by the name of Simon and we both attend the same church.
I've gotta be honest, its been a bit if a tough life for me but I've decided today that I'm going to start again. Thats the purpose of blogging, so I can keep a better track of how I'm doing with starting again.
I can almost guarantee that there will be film/music/book reviews along the way aswell as my musings on life. I'll probably end up talking at some point about ice hockey too as I love that sport!! :-)
I'll start with an observation from today though.
Why, oh why, when its freezing cold outside, do some people go out in shorts and a t-shirt? Before I go any further I should probably point out that it has (so far) just been men that I have seen doing this! I don't understand it though. It can't be some sort of macho think can it? Or maybe that's just the male equivalent of girls going out on the town in 12 inch long dresses. Just a thought! :-)
Anyway, enough from this blog. I'll be back with more musings soon.
Have fun! :-)
